North Charleston
North Charleston is nicknamed "the hub of the Lowcountry", and is the third largest city in South Carolina. Revitalization of neighborhoods surrounding the former U.S. Navy Base, the old downtown along Montague Avenue and other neighborhoods entice a move to the North area where home prices are less expensive. Many of the old neighborhoods have established parks, especially in the Park Circle area, and developers have built parks, community centers, and jogging trails in the newer neighborhoods.
North Charleston is the transportation hub of the area. The Charleston International Airport, Amtrak Station, the Convention Center and North Charleston Coliseum are conveniently located in the heart of North Charleston with quick access to I-26 to downtown Charleston and I-526 heading westbound to West Ashley and heading eastbound to Daniel Island and Mount Pleasant.
