Summerville

Summerville is known as "The Flower Town in the Pines",  and is famous for its beautiful spring blossoms.  The Flowertown Festival is held each spring where more than 200,000 visitors and residents enjoy the splendid beauty of blooming azaleas and dogwoods.  There are crafts, exhibits, tours and numerous family activities.

This largest city in Dorchester County has preserved its natural beauty, simple charm, community pride and historic past.  There are a variety of boating, fishing and other water activities available on freshwater lakes, rivers and the nearby coast.  Givhans Ferry State Park, Old Fort Dorchester State Park, Cypress Gardens, Old Santee Canal State Park and the Francis Beidler Forest are a nature lover's delight.
